You know how some stores put up Halloween decorations as early as June? And how it makes a lot of people want to throw up? Not me. I personally think getting glimpses of pumpkins and bats on a random July day is every bit as exciting as thinking about harvest and holiday festivals during the heat of summer farmers’ market season. With the South Tacoma Farmers’ Market in the last five weeks of its 2017 season, I’ve been scouring the Internet looking for vending opportunities for the fall and winter months. Although I’m sad to see the tail end of one of my farmers’ market venues so soon, I’m downright giddy at the thought of taking my confections beyond the borders of farmers’ markets and into the realm of local festivals.
My first ever festival will be the Shipwreck Beads Summer Artisan Market. Set for Saturday, August 26 in Lacey, it will host over 80 local crafters, artists, and artisan food-makers. Shoppers will have eight hours between 10AM and 6PM to peruse and purchase quality handmade goods in support of small, local businesses. This event is not to be missed!
Then on Saturday and Sunday, September 23 and 24, I’ll be venturing over to adorable Port Angeles for their Arts and Draughts Beer, Wine, and Arts Festival. This event features over 20 local wineries, breweries, and cideries. Accompanying the drinks will be a street fair showcasing local artisans with handmade crafts, art, and specialty food items. Little Dipper Confections will be set up at the street fair on Saturday from 12 PM – 6 PM, and Sunday from 12 PM – 5 PM.
I’m beyond excited about participating in these two festivals! In between these two events, I’ll still be at the Proctor Farmers’ Market on Saturdays and Main & Vine on Tuesdays. Updates on future events and detailed information can be found on my Find Us At page. Hope your summer is going well!
